The spiritual message in The Eternal Messiah: Jesus of K'Turia

The message of Jesus of K'Turia is consistent with the teachings of the
biblical Jesus.  However, it is not simply a retelling of the New
Testament, but instead reflects the realties of the people of K'Turia.

The K'Turian society is organized in a caste ("The Order") and their
religion is a fundamental element of their lives.  Specific laws have
been created by the K'Turian priests to guide the people.  A key
element of the laws and The Order is the making of Sacrifices,
payments made from the lowest members of The Order up through the
castes, to the priests.

Using stories and parables, Jesus challenges this system, and
preaches that the priests have twisted the true meaning of sacrifice by
turning it into a meaningless ritual (Mark 7:5-9; also Romans 3:28,
Galatians 2:15-17).*   He says that the Sacrifices are nothing more than
taxes, paid out of fear.   Reaching paradise (heaven) and enlightenment
does require sacrifice, but it must be made by choice, a 'giving
sacrifice.'  Such sacrifices include helping others to the best of one's
ability (Acts 20:30-34; 1 Peter 2:4-6; James 2:17).  [“The new
beginning that I teach is one of action, of good deeds, of doing what
you can do, not praying for things out of your control not to happen.” ]
This theme of sacrifice is central to Jesus' teachings on K'Turia.

Jesus also teaches that the people can only be freed from this
misinterpretation by seeing the light of Truth (John 8:32).  For those who
are afraid, or do not know how they should walk the path, Jesus offers
to set an example; to be the light on their path (John 8:12).  The first
step is for people to believe, and then to have faith that they can get
guidance and support from Jesus and his teachings (John 14:12; also
Thessalonians 2:12-13). [“I will be your Light.  And I will walk ahead of
you on the path to Paradise; you have only to follow my footsteps.  Yet
you must do more than follow blindly along.  I can show you the Way, but
you must choose whether or not you will walk the path.]

This faith will provide strength, even if one is surrounded by those who
insist on a ‘scientific’ explanation of God: “Who are they who would say
that the truth of faith is any less than the truth of evidence?”

There is no proselytizing in this book directed at the reader, although
the characters in the book have their own thoughts as to Jesus' true
nature and identity, including those who come to see him as the true
Messiah.

* The Bible citations are references to passages that are analogous to,
or otherwise support, the themes in the book.  While the teachings of
Jesus of K'Turia are distinctly "K'Turian" in nature, they are consistent
with the New Testament.  Even those who are not everyday readers of
the Bible will recognize and feel comfortable with the themes and
teachings.
